Please take the time to read

Internet: 

• High speed internet available

Drinking Water:

• We do not recommend drinking water directly from the tap.
• Use your ‘Brita” filtered water to boil tea/coffee, cooking pasta, etc.
• Wash raw veggie/fruits- use ½ teaspoon of baking soda or other drops.
• 5 gallons of filtered water for drinking $ 25 XCD (See Khen’s contact at the bottom)

Water and Electricity Conservation:

• Please be mindful of water conservation due to limited resources.
• Water used for washing dishes can be recycled by watering plants outside your front door.
• Hot water in showers takes a few minutes to get warm.
• During the day we run mainly on solar panels but not at night. Please turn off lights when you leave the room.

Garbage / Recycling/ Compost:

• Here in Antigua, we recycle only aluminum cans and hard plastics, unfortunately, no glass.
• Under your kitchen sink you will find 3 provided bins for: general waste, plastic and cans, compost. Please empty these regularly in the marked bins by the cottages parking.
• We adore compost! Only raw fruit and vegetables. Please No Cooked Food
• Our “stress free life” and completely organically fed chickens and ducks love raw salads, spinach, raw fruits, and vegetarian cooked food. (NO! AVOCADOS It is toxic for chickens). In return they give us daily amazing eggs which you can buy at the Rotten Hill Studios office at the best price on the island: $13 XCD x 6 eggs and $26 XCD x 12 eggs. 😊
• You can feed the birds on your balcony in the provided feeding birds’ hanging containers. They love brown sugar, fruit and bread.

Laundry and Cleaning:

• PLEASE DO NOT USE BLEACH OR ANY OTHER HARSH CHEMICALS for washing your dishes, laundry and house cleaning. All our waste waters are recycled in an ecological filter which goes into the ponds. Any harsh chemical will kill fish, birds and plants.
• Cleaning and changing lines are included once a week on Tuesdays. Please let us know if you wish to do your own cleaning. 
• For personal laundry service ask our staff to help ( $15USD - $40 XCD x medium load). PLEASE! Do not operate the washing machine by yourself.

Freezer:

• We offer a shared deep freezer located in the laundry room under Logwood cottage.

Security:

• Antigua is a relatively safe island, but we recommend locking your front door when you leave.
• Keys are provided for your cottage and for Rotten Hill Studios lower gate.

Quietness:

• Our friends and guests are here to rest, practice meditation and mindfulness retreats, heal, recuperate, take a break from the real world. etc. We would be very grateful if you could please try your best to maintain quietness, no loud partying, paying attention when speaking on mobile phones, video calls and while walking in the garden.

Swimming Pool:

• There is a beautiful swimming pool up in the main garden.
• Pool towels are in your closet, and we will show you where to find cushions for the sun chairs.
• PLEASE BE CAREFUL! NO DIVING! The pool is quite shallow.
• PLEASE BE CAREFUL! The pool is in the dog area. We will introduce you to our canine security team but always remember to walk slowly and carry with you the small bag of dog biscuits provided in the room.

Health and Safety:

• All our facilities are NOT SMOKING!
• Mosquitoes come out at dusk. Please remember to close your windows, doors and bed mosquitoes’ nets around 5 pm. During the day we recommend you leave some of the screens open to allow more ventilation through.
• There are no dangerously poisonous creatures in Antigua and Barbuda. Brown hairy spiders and small yellow scorpions might be the most frightening and can give irritation, but these are rare and there is nothing dangerous.
• PLEASE! Be very careful with matches, candles and mosquitoes’ coils. The cottages are mainly built in wood.
• Fire extinguishers are in the kitchen.

Healthy Food:

• Cat’s Meow Café: Please see her beautiful vegan menu attached in this folder. WhatsApp Kafi at + 1 (268) 722 4010 for her daily specials, deliveries and Café’ opening days down at Rotten Hill Studios.
• In English Harbour village, you will find several grocery stores and street vendors, where to buy beautiful local products. Covent Garden, Genny’s Supermarket, Baileys’ Supermarket, Cork and Basket, Crab Hole.
• Colesome Farmer’s in All Saints for mostly locally grown and organic very fresh fruit and vegetables.

Banking/ATM:

• You will find ECAB Bank in Nelson’s Dockyard area, just past security gate.
